Our workshops include local, national and international visiting tutors on hand to teach specific and unique skills.
Our vast arrange of workshops include hand sewing projects such as Sashiko, Boro and Felt Embroidery or machined Art Quilts, Pixelated Quilts, Laura Heine technique, Judy Niemeyer technique, Bag Making and Confetti Work and Freemotion for beginners and advanced.
AMAZING 3 International quilt artists are heading to Mildura in 2020 to teach at Lesley Mays. These artists are very well known accomplished award winning artists and are teaching at only a few places in Australia, so we are the winners here.

2020 Class List – fabulous classes this year - book in early to get a place
- Bookings essential with non-refundable deposits paid to hold your place
- Balance paid by due date
- Visitors, including children, are not catered for in classes
- Please ensure your sewing machine is in good working order and that you have all requirements on the class list [or discuss this with shop staff]. Always bring your machine manual to class
- Remember your lunch – we have refrigeration and microwave facilities available. Morning/afternoon teas will be provided. Please advise if you have any dietary requirements. Note some classes include lunch, this will be stated on your class information
- All full day classes will run from 9.30 – 3.30; please arrive about 9.00am so you are ready for class to start at 9.30am.
Our class list is so extensive we don’t have room for many photos in it.
However most will be on our Facebook page or if you would like a picture of any of the classes emailed to you please let us know.
Each Wednesday and Saturday from 1.00 – 4.00pm [with the exception of scheduled classes listed] we have sit and sew classes with help plus delicious afternoon teas. Work on any project, bookings not required, cost $25 per session.
You can always layby a class by paying the required deposit then progress payments to suit your need. Final payments must be made one month prior to class date.
Term 1
Saturday Feb 1st – 1.00pm – 4.00pm – Something New – this year we are starting to
inspire and educate our customers with a Technique and Show & Tell afternoon. Will be run in conjunction with selected Saturday and Wednesday S&S. You will learn a new technique then while we have afternoon tea we will show you some new arrivals in the shop [and what you do with them!!]. Cost is $25 as per S&S afternoons and will be repeated…….
Wednesday 5 th Feb 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Ladies that wish to simply continue with normal Sit & Sew on these Saturdays or Wednesdays are very welcome to do this and we will have someone with you for
assistance. The techniques from the Saturday will be repeated.
Saturday Feb 15th – 9.30am – 12 noon – Introduction to Free Motion Quilting – this class is for absolute beginners!!! A morning where you will go through the basics of free motion quilting, a great start to this skill. You will need a sewing machine with free motion capability plus a free motion foot. We can help you sort this out. Cost $50.00
March 5th – 8th – we welcome our first international tutor for 2020, Sandra Mollon. Her class is a four day spectacular, which is fully booked but we will take
names on our waitlist.

October 15th – 18 th Sophie Standing – our third international tutor. We have samples of Sophie’s class work in store, a fabulous tutor, her class is fully booked but we do have a waitlist so please contact us if you are interested.
Wednesday Nov 4th – Melbourne Cup Special 12.00-4.00pm Chicken and Champagne Lunch along with a small mystery project. $50.00. A fun girls day out!!!
